Need Help with "Messenger Service" pop ups

    I keep getting ads pop up when I'm online with "Messenger Service" alerts with ads to "MessengerKiller.com" and a few others, someone mentioned that it was an option with Windows XP and I could turn it off but they didn't know how, anyone have a clue?

    Control Panel-Administrative tools-Services.

    Find Messenger (these are alphabeticly listed) rt click, then click "Stop" then click and choose "Disabled ". Apply and OK.
