    Hello all,

I was wondering if anybody out there every got a Belkin F5D5020t working in Windows 2000.

I've tried just about everything I can think of. I go into the device manager, and it shows up as an unknown device (but it lists the card perfectally), and I go to the update driver button. I have the origanal cd that came with the card, so I get it to scan the entire cd. It says it can't find a driver for it. So then I go to Belkin's website for a driver. I download what they have, and it turns out it's the exact same as what's on the cd they gave me. So I point the driver update to that folder, and still nothing.

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks for your help.

How are you installing this card?

I'm not sure about windows 2000 as I have xp but I assume it will be similar. The important thing in XP with Belkin is that you have to install the software before you ever plug in the card. I found the same as you when I plugged in the card first it would not find the drivers even if I pointed the installer to the correct folder. However, after uninstalling the card, if I load the software and wait for the program to prompt me to insert the card it seems to work ok. Then it's just a case of clicking "find the software automatically and away it went. "

I hope that your problem is a similer one and this has helped.

    kiwicolin,

thanks for your help, unfortunatly it didn't work. I picked up another card at a computer store for $25 threw it in my laptop and it picked it up, no drivers needed and started working like a charm.

It seems this card was not meant to work on windows 2k. Oh well.

I use a few Belkin networking products and have found them to be very tempermental about their drivers and had multiple attempts to install on 98 and XP. Sorry to hear that you had no luck. :(
