98SE Ad-Aware 6.0 personal

Anyone seen a recent reference file update ?
Mine is 15.7.2003 and the auto-update says this is the latest
version - or have Lavasoft stopped updates (again) ?
Spybot released a new reference file only a couple of days ago.

I'm running 98SE and have AdAware Build 6.181 Reference file 01R21122.08.2003 installed on both of my machines.

 

I am gald that I check out these threads. It reminded me to check my 98SE machine which I only use once in a while. And a LONG time between whiles.

Had the same problem as merlin which has now been fixed.

Now have the same version etc. as I have here on XP.

Did you use the built-in update applet or do-it-yourself ?
Still cannot update 6.0 or reference file.

If you look at the page Pete posts, the reference file is the one I have 17.07.2003
22.08.2003 is nowhere to be found !

I just took a peek at that site and in the next section under where it shows that file IN RED with a warning you can download version 6.181 which you will need to get any newer updates.

Look below AdAware6 Standard Edition. for a list of availabe download site.

I already had it downloaded.

Thanks again all. As you say, it seems that to get the latest definitions (23.08.2003) you have to have the latest version (6.0.181) of the app.
I wonder why they do not mention that on the page ?
Ah well, I think I am up to date now.
After all that, I am a bit sorry it did not find any spyware !

I agree. A little miss leading at first. But it does say that support for previous versions has been dropped.

It would have been much nicer if they had said straight out. " you need a new version " And gave better directions.

After I upgraded my Wifes' machine it found 8 items.
