address changes from default setting in IE6

    Guru's,
    I open IE6 to a default page setting and the address bar then changes to 'type in the address you want to go to' (paraphrased) instead of staying at the default URL. I'd rather it not do this and was wondering if any of y'all have a fix for this annoyance.
    Using w2k sp4 flawlessly otherwise ...

    This happened to me as well, last month. It's a piece of spyware that has attached itself to IE. Use Spybot - Search & Destroy to get rid of it.
