My son is running WIN XP Pro and is using Norton AV 2002.

Today NAV picked up a virus called "JS. Exception. Exploit "

It said it was unable to repair it and put it in Quartine.

Is there away to remove this virus from his computer?

I remember about a year ago I had the same situation and quarantined a virus and then I went back the next day and shopped around in NAV and if I remember right there was something that asked me if I want to remove this virus and I answer yes and clicked on the appropriate box and it was gone and the main portion no longer showed any viri in Quartine.

    Thank you
    Paul

When I get a virus thats quarantined, I simply open up NAV 2002, Click 'Reports' down the left hand side, then click 'View Report' on the Quarantined Items section.

Once it opens and the quarantined file is there I simply hold shift and press delete so it misses the Recycle Bin and just deletes altogether.

Never had any problems doing that.

    Hope this helps. :)

I don´t think it is necessary to hold the shift key, I have never seen it sent to the recycle bin.

If you have Norton System Works with the Norton Protected Recycle Bin, then it by default saves deleted files, that don´t go via the recycle bin, for 7 days. It can be configured differently but only after the default or the configured time are they purged. Maybe it is wise to do a manual purge after clearing Quarantined Items!
