Geez, after installing Roadrunner and a new hard drive, I've been stuck in computer land for a week! Well here goes.

The FIC website (www.FIC.com, my motherboard maker), says that you cannot reflash an AMI bios with the old bios backup. In other words, once you begin to flash, your are committed to a one way road to success or failure. All other bios's can be reflashed with the backup bios.

Well, I need the flash update, but don't want to take the risk. Does anyone know why only AMI is in this special exclusion?
