I just bought a CD RW...

I just bought a CD RW. Its an external CD RW by Gateway for my solo 2150 laptop. It works, but how do I get Easy CD Creator or Nero software to recognize it?

 

I do not use Nero so can not help you there. As for Easy CD Creator does the version you have support the recorder you installed? Go to http://www.roxio.com/en/jhtml/cdrdatabase/database.jhtml to find out.

 

That is what I am worried about. See I bought this internal cd burner off of ebay and it works. I just can't get the software to find it.

One good thing is this person that sold it to me sells a lot of these same models. I am emailing some of the people that won this same product and asking them.

If you look on the support site of Nero you can download a small files which includes all the drives they support. 9 times outta 10 that'll work. If not, erm, dunno. Maybe you'll find something on Google or some other software will pick it up. I found CDRBurn to be OK (limited but at least confirms the drive works

You are right about the drivvers. That was the problem with Easy CD Creator. I went from Easy CD Creator version 5.0 to 5.02 and it fixed it.

I would like to use Nero though. Do you have the link to the drivers for Nero?

PS If anyone can't get their drive to work always tell them to go get an update. It will save them from pulling their hair out
