Documents going into wrong folders

Suddenly, several of my documents--both Word and .txt files--are being filed by Windows in folders to which I did not save them. A file will show up multiple times in different, unrelated folders.

One file disappeared altogether, and when I did a search, I found two copies of it in a cookies folder. One copy said it had originally been filed where I had filed it; the other said it had originally been filed in an unrelated folder. When I sent one of these copies to My Documents, suddenly, two more copies popped up, out of nowhere.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and how it can be repaired?

 

Have you scanned for virus' lately. Don't know if that is it but I would start there. After that try repairing or reinstalling office or the programs that this problem exsists in. See if those help any.
