When I log on (XP Pro) the Display setting changes from 32 bit to 8 bit and I must manually reset each time I log on. This is annoying !! I think the setting changing occurs when AVG(anti-virus program) boots up. This is a problem that has occurred only recently. Anyone have a similar prob? Any solutions or tips to fix?

Disable AVG and see if the problem persists?
If this is causing the problem check that the AVG build is XP compliant, and check for any programme updated for the AVG. You may need to contact them (AVG) for help.
I would suggest you check for any driver updates for your graphics card and see if that fixes the problem.
