    ok! i got the administrator file, my personal file, my wifes and a file for friends and family. i have quicken installed and it is in my programs. how do i keep anyone using friends and family from just going to the programs and bringing up quicken revealing my complet financial positions etc.??????? i did go to quicken in programs and right clicked on it and tried to apply a control on the security section. i have a manual but it's to technical for me. i'm a senior and not a geek. any suggestions??????? thanks phil

    The best I can figure out. They should not have administrator's rights. Next, use Windows Explorer (right click on My Computer) and check DOCUMENT AND SETTINGS > ALL USERS > make sure the file is NOT in their START MENU PROGRAMS. Individual users > Make sure it is not in their either. But you have to start with the ALL USERS! You'll have to add it back to your own profile.

    Check in the options of the Quicken program. Chances are, there's an option to password protect it (or at least each account you have set up) .

    WINDOWS EXP QUICKEN SECURITY

    thank you for your suggestions. i will look into the possiblility of using a password. but, frankly i don't recall this being available. strange as it may seem. when logging onto quicken one is asked for a password to upgrade information but a snapshot of your entire financial info is right there for the viewing. thanks again phil
