My mom just bought a new computer and it has XP. She is having a hard time reading the font on it. She says it is to small. What do we need to change to fix that. She is getting headaches from trying to read small print.

    Hi Krazmona,
You can click on view at the top of the page and select text size. Then click on the size you want.
Another way is to right click on your desktop and click on properties. Click on the settings tab and change the screen reslolution by sliding the tab. This might not make things larger. It may make things smaller.
    Good luck,

The changing text size only works for some things, the rest is still very small. for example, in email when you change the setting to largest it changes the size of the email in the preview window but not where it comes in. You know the list of emails you have in a folder, that is the type of thing she is trying to change.

    Krazmona,

Try right click on desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced and on the General tab Display DPI settings.

For internet explorer, go to tools~internet options and click on Accessibility. Then check the boxes for {Ignore Font Sizes ..." and "Ignore Font Styles ... ". That changes almost all the text she will see to Times New Roman which is much easier to read. And she can hold down the Ctrl key and then use the roller on the mouse to change the size of the typeface on a web page.

I don't know what size monitor she has but a new system should have 17" or 19" and probably set for 1024x768 or 1280xsomething. Changing that to 800x600 should help her.

Karazmona, please take a moment and read the Posting Rules before you post. A subject help isn't very useful.
