powrprof.dll error

    When I start my computer I always get this error message:
    "error loading powrprof.dll. A device attached to system is not functioning ". I went to device manager, every was working properly. I tried out everything, scanner, printer, mouse, speakers, monitor and can't figure out why I'm getting the error message. I've unplugged everything, replugged everything, any suggestions appreciated! Thank You win98se

    Boy that Google search engine is great. Type in "powerprof" and here's what you get.

    I should of mentioned that I did not receive a 98 cdrom with my computer. I have already been to that google site also. Is there any other solutions? Thanks :(

    Start-Run

    type

    msconfig

    Uncheck "Loadpowerprofile "

    There should be 2 of them!

    Reboot

    Report back!
