installing an old game in win98

I have this game "leisure suit larry" that I want to install but when I tried to install it, windows gives me an error.
So i think I have to install it from DOS.
How do i do that? Do I boot to msdos then type "F" (F is my cdrom) then enter, then type "install "?.
Then, when want to play it, Do I have to boot to DOS first?.
Last question, when Am I at DOS, does my cdrom works? if not, how Do I do that?.
This game is for win 95

We need to know the exact error message that you are getting. It most likely can be installed by windows so knowing the error message would help.
