In the last few months I have started losing time on the task bar clock and my sound is jumpy along with erratic mouse movements. I have tried two new batteries but everything is the same. My anti virus is McAfee but I have not had any problems with it for the last couple of years. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks. P.S. I even tried a spare mouse and keyboard, same problem.

It sounds like a few different problems.

I personally have seen nothing but problems with Mcafee. I like AVG. It is a free download. You would want to completely uninstall Mcafee if you decide to go with AVG

You might also want to download and install Adaware and run a scan for spyware which can cause erratic behavior.

You might also want to take a look at what is loading at startup. The icons in your system tray by your clock are programs that are loading at startup. You need some but not all of them and they can eat up resources. Go here to read about what is safe to remove.

Time loss can be caused by a few things including spyware, screen savers and so on.
