I have Oulook Express installed and when I receive an email with pictures in the body of the text I can not view them, only empty squares with a red cross! I have Zone Alarm as a fire wall and Nortons 2002 AntiVirus. I can not find anything to say "Don't open suspicious Items in body of Text" or anything resembling that! any ideas?

    It could be several things.
Check under tools, options, security tab. Look for "dont open, etc" checkmark.
Normally with OE, it will state "OE removed attachment that may be harmful ". Next it may be the people who are sending you the pic don't really know what they are doing. Are these forwarded emails? It may be their server. I would send yourself a pic inserted and if you can see it, then more than likely its their end.

I have checked everything in Tools/Options/Security tab and there is nothing that resembles "dont open, etc ", there is also no suggestion in the email that anything has been removed as suspicious, the pictures simply are not there! I sent myself an email with pictured and that was ok. I think I will wait for the next email of that type and see what it does, Thanks, Bram T

What version of OE? Are these forwarded emails? Maybe from AOL users?
