Hi, is there anybody who can help me with this problem...actually, one of my litttle brothers was playing with my computer and i don't know what he has done because since then, i can not see the taskbar buttons related to my open windows, to say more clear, when i open a window, i can not see its related button on the task bar and if i minimize the window, there is nothing on the taskbar to show this window is open.....can you help me to restore it to its default situation. Thanks

    Hello H_MAL

Try this first: hover the mouse near the bottom edge of the screen until you get a vertical two way arrow. Then click and "pull" up.

Hope the problem is that the toolbar was simply hidden in this manner.

If this is the problem, to lock the toolbar: right click on an unused portion of the area around the clock > properties > put a check mark in the "lock tool bar" check box.

    Regards - Charles

    Hello Charles,

Thanks for your reply¡K.actually it was not my problem.. so let me explain my problem more clearly¡K
When you open a window, you will see a relative button will appear on the taskbar at the bottom of screen, while you have more windows open, you can easily switch from one window to another by clicking on its relative button on taskbar¡Kright?....now, I don¡¦t have those button on my taskbar¡KI gave the Quick Lunch and other part of taskbar but when I open a window, I don¡¦t see any related button for that window, so I can only see the open windows and switch between them by using the Alt+Tab key.

Hope you can help me by that¡KThanks Æ’º

If the repair Tom Emmelot posted the link to doesn't help, go into Control Panel>Add Remove Programs and see if there's an entry for anything resembling "Friend Greeting. "

That was an online electronic greeting card outfit which required their software be installed before their cards could be viewed. It has now been classified as a virus and most up-to-date anti-virus programs can remove it.

You can read more about it here.

    Hi H_MAL,

Try this, grab the right side of the quick launch tool bar - "perferated" edge - and drag it all the way to the left towards the start button, or as much of it as you want to see. This time, the two way arrow will be horizontal.

If the tool bar is locked, un-lock it before doing this.

    Regards - Charles
