I have several Win 2000 Professional workstations behind an Actton router, which accesses the Net via a cable modem.

I want to accept incoming calls via a modem from a Win 2000 work station dialling in. I want that dial in workstation to join my network, just as a TCP/IP on my LAN does.

    How should I do this?

Set up a LAN workstation with a modem to use RAS.

How do you unstuff network components?

Thanks for that Newt. I have a problem that my network componet of Win 2k seems stuffed, on the modem. When I dial out, to my ISP I get error 720, that being, "either there are no PPP network control protocols configured for your connection or the corresponding network protocol is no installed. "

I have TCP/IP configured. I complete handshake and get authenticated, then bang, I'm dropped with error 720. I have also had errors 721 & 732. Now can I just remove the network component of Win 2k and re-install that?

Error Message: Error 720: No PPP Control Protocols Configured describes your problem although they only show it for Win98 but it is probably the same thing.

Their recommendation is what you thought - a repair of your network install. You can remove it and reload and I imagine the problem will go away.
