For some reason recently when I changed my admin password, it only works SOME of the time and won't allow access over a network.

I tried removing the password, but it still only works with the previous password. ( intermintently )

I tried a reinstall repair. And now I would like to just reinstall Win2k but it will only allow me to either run a repair, or to install a dual boot on the same, or 2 partitions.

If you are sure you want to do a new install, use a Win9X startup disk and use the fdisk utility to reformat your hard drive, then install anything you want.
Be sure you want to do a fresh install. Back up your important files, addresses, mail, etc. Cuz fdisk & format will erase EVERYRTHING on the drive/partition you tell it.....
If you don't have a 9X startup disk go HERE and get one.

    Good luck!! :):);)

If your PC will boot from the CD, probably better to use it for a format and clean install. The option will certainly be there.

Fdisk and format from a 9X floppy will work but the MBR (master boot record) it builds is different than the one 2K uses so the 2K install would have to build another one and while it usually works fine, I've seen occasionall problems.

Otherwise, use the 9X disk to fdisk (and if you have NTFS it will need to be told to remove a "non-DOS partition ". After that you can boot from the 2K CD and the only option it presents should be to format and install clean.

    Went ahead and reinstalled

Actually I formatted the hard drive then fully reinstalled.
Luckliy it was a brand new install so accept for reinstalling the programs no data was lost and its up and running fine.

    Thanks for the responses
