I'm using a Gateway laptop with Windows ME. I've been using it overseas and have recently returned home and am getting an error message (and freezing) when I try to shut down the computer. (It was working OK overseas.) Message says "syntpenh has caused an error in Kernel 32.Dll - try restarting ". Mouse (touchpad) won't respond and I have to turn off computer and reboot. Computer seems to work OK until I try to shut down again - when it again shows this error and freezes. I've tried to do a 'system restore' but for some reason, I won't work either. I don't know if it has anything to do with the problem or not - but the monitor doesn't work on the computer and I'm plugging it into a desktop monitor. Any comments of how I might resolve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

The syntpenh driver provides capabilites for the touchpad on your Gateway.

You may wish to try removing the program from add/remove programs in the control panel and then installing the latest winME drivers from here.

    Cheers,
