Rows 1 & 2 are hidden in a spread sheet I have. However, I have the whole document unhidden. When I go to print preview it shows the 2 rows OK.

I run WINXP & Office XP

    Any suggestions

Not sure what you want - and not sure of answer but ...
maybe a new insert of new rows 1 and 2 incl. references before row 3 would solve it ?
Seems to be an XL gltch - do you have any working backups ?
    regards

Click the little square between the A and the 1. This is the select all button in Excel. Then right click on the first letter row header and choose unhide.

Tried inserting rows that doesn't work.

I have selected the whole sheet and tried to unhide. That doesn't work.

I don't understand why when I print preview the full document is shown. If the first 2 rows where actually hidden then they shouldn't be shown in the print preview. So I'm assuming it's a bug that probably can't be cleared.

    From Excel 2002 Help menu:

"If the first row or column of a worksheet is hidden, click Go To on the Edit menu. Type A1 in the Reference box, and click OK. Point to Row or Column on the Format menu, and then click Unhide.

Also, the row or column may have had the height or width set to zero. Point to the border of Select All until the cursor changes to" double lines with double arrows "and drag to widen the row or column. "

(Had to edit slightly because the help menu shows pictures)

Well thank you Merlin, but my suggestion did not work either. Kevin's idea is very good. I never knew you could do that.

Going to A1 then using the Format/Rows/Unhide didn't work either. I should have mentioned, though it didn't seem to have anything to do with it, is this file came from a template with the first 20 rows frozen. The template is fine all twenty rows are visable. I have just unfrozen the rows and A1 and A2 rows have appeared. Don't understand. Thanks for the help anyway.
