The network at my company is based on windows 2000. I would like to be able to see which user is logged on any computer.
Does anybody know a way of doing this?

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can find out which user is logged on at a particular time.
All you have to do is go to the command promt on the Windows 2K server and type the command "Net Session ".
Thus, you can find all the current users who've logged in.

    Bye,
    Anand

Anand thank you for your reply.

The net session command returns only computers and users that have an open session with the server. If the computer or user is not accessing the server at that moment it does not display any information about the computer.

What I would like to be able to do is to see at any given time which user is logged on a certain machine.

For example lets suppose the workastation is named \\TEST and the user logged on is named user001.
I would like to be able to find a way of knowing that user user001 is logged on to TEST without having to go to the TEST workstation.

By using the command Net View I can find all workstations connected to the network, but I cannot find a way of finding out which user is logged on any of the workstations

I found that using nbtstat -a \\TEST, and by examining the output I can get the user name, but only if the workstation has windows 2000. If the workstation has NT or 98 the user doesn't show.[
