When I right-click a folder and click either 'open' or 'open-with', XP produces multiple instances of the 'Move Items' window.
These windows are persistent, and the number of instances of them seem to directly correlate to the number of files contained within the folder originally clicked on...
This behaviour is especially prevalent in the Start Menu folders, but does not happen consistently.

I seem to remember reading about a registry setting that could be altered to prevent this happening, but after an hour of searching, I haven't found any leads - HELP!!!

Have you done the registry thing (or used X-Setup to do it) that adds "Move To..." and "Copy To..." to the context menu?

    Thanks Abraxis

I never thought of utilising X-Setup, but I downloaded and installed it, and sure enough, Copy To & Move To were enabled within the relevant plugin.
It's a mystery as to how they got that way, but they're now returned to their original state, and XP is behaving itself.
Once again, Abraxis to the rescue...:)
    Many thanks...

Chances are they were added by some tweaking program if you didn't do it manually.

A nice, configurable substitute for the Copy/Move context entries is FileTargets:

(Don't forget the installation password found on that page).
