    when trying to open an attached doc in my email, i get the following error message:

    WORDPAD caused an invalid page fault in
    module MSWRD832.CNV at 0167:0140f6d5

    and i can not locate this error over on the microsoft support site

    yet i have no problem opening wordpad from my desktop when i want to make a NEW doc.

    The most likely culprit is that the doc file you're trying to open was created with a newer version of Word than your Wordpad can handle. (I got that clue from the MS KB article, Problems Opening Word Document in WordPad.

    There are workarounds in that article but they involve the creator of the doc file saving in a format your version of Wordpad can handle and sending it to you again.

    You might want to consider getting one of the free office suites available for download so you'll have a word processing program that can handle doc files from newer versions of Word.

    One I've used with success is 602 PC Suite.

    great, i'll give it a try, thank you very much...wjo knew wordpad would become outdated eh???lol thanks again
