Hi John - and Welcome to the Board :)

DOS is dead - long live DOS :D

Seriously there is no DOS in XP, but there is a DOS emulator.

Start > Run > type in cmd and at the prompt type help you will be presented with a list of available commands.

    Small.com

    Hi Pete
Unfortunatly the SMALL.COM program was not a DOS program.
When invoked all you needed to do to delete all *.txt files was go into the root of your drive and type SMALL DEL *.TXT and it would step through your entire drive and perform the command.
I have a bunch of art files half *.pcx and half *.wpg in about 100 directorys where I want to delete all the *.wpg files and sweep would do the trick in no time.

    Hi John

Agent Ransack http://www.agentransack.com/default.aspx should do the job nicely.

It is a freeware standalone file search engine - FAR better and faster than Windows Explorer search engine.

Just search for *.pcx files > select all > delete.

You could just use the WinXP Search Assistant. To access Search Assistant, right click on "My Computer" and select "Search... ", and searching for file names matching "*.wpg" looking in "Local Hard Drives ".

Once the files have been found, you can either delete them all (CTRL-A to select all of them), or selectively delete files in certain locations (CTRL+click on each to select it). Once you are done selecting, press Delete on your KB (or just right click on one of the selected files and choose Delete from the pop-up menu).
