    what is the difference between windows 95 and win95 companion cd?

    The companion CD contains an mpeg viewer, a bunch of mpg's, and various other demo software. There is no actual OS (or much of anything usefull at all) on the companion CD.

    That is what came with my Aptiva computer. If you want to see what came on the disk have a look here.

    Dell, Compaq, HP, PB, E-Machines, Patriot, as well as some Win95 OEM releases had "Companion" CD's. All useless.
