Hello everyone, can anyone please tell me how to switch off the typing recognition in windows 98 SE. You know the thing, when you start typing an email address or something and it lists all names starting with the same characters.

I'm not sure if its a operating system option or a Internet Explorer option as it happens in MS outlook as well ?

    Cheers

There are two things related to this. One is AutoComplete (Internet Explorer) and the other is Automatic Name Checking (Outlook). To disable AutoComplete, go to Internet Options, click the Advanced tab, and uncheck "Use inline AutoComplete for Web Addresses." For Outlook, go to Tools>Options>Preferences and click the E-Mail Options button. Then click the Advanced E-mail Options button and uncheck "Automatic name checking."

This all applies to IE6 and Outlook 2000.
