    I hope you typed it better than that!

    wrong:
    user_pref( "browser.cache.memory.capacity ", 2048

    correct:
    user_pref( "browser.cache.memory.capacity ", 2048);

    Now, copy the correct line above and paste it into notepad. save as user.js ( I save as type all files *.* but I don't think it matters, as long as the end result is a user.js file, not a user.js.txt file!) and save to your SLT folder.

    Then close/reopen Netscape and type about:cache in the location bar to see the Memory cache device Maximum storage size. If the 2048 kb setting "took" then you should see a Maximum storage size of 2097152 bytes (1024 X 2048)

    Glad to hear that you typed it right when it mattered most and that the new setting seems to help.

    Good luck in your new quest,

    Alice :)

    No problems with Netscape 7.1. It is running very smoothly now. I had been using the latest Mozilla nightlies up to the launch of N7.1, and on Ramona's advice started with anew profile into which I copies adress book, bookmarkes and passwords. I have smoothScroll enabled. I have seen no memory problems with XP.

    What would I like next?

    Multiple and tied identiies as in Mulberry.
    Sieve editor so I can park my rules on my IMAP server.
    A Pane that displays all folder properties and allows them to be edited.

    I have great hopes of Firebird/Thunderbird.

    Labarum,

    Appreciate the feedback! Glad to hear that you are having a positive experience with 7.1. Curious to know if you use tabbed browsing, and if so, how many tabs do you usually leave open?

    For your wishlist, posting it HERE might have a very positive effect. If we don't let the powers that be know, then how can they give us what we wish for...

    Ramona :D
