How do you recover the "Windows standard" option in Control Panel/Display/Appearance/Desktop if you deleted it by mistake?

Removing and reinstalling themes did not work.

    Thanks

I don't know if it can be recovered, but if you remember what everything looked like, it can certainly be recreated. From the appearance tab, choose a color and/or font style, size, and font color for each of the items available clicking save as>type in 'Windows Standard' after each item.

An afterthought! If you have windows standard with large and extra large icons schemes, you can view those settings and colors and probably match the original windows standard using smaller icons and fonts. Can't confirm this for you as I only have 1 scheme called 'mine'. After I set the appearance the way I wanted it, I deleted all the others, since I don't feel compelled to change it rapidly. I also only have 1 background, 1 theme and no screensaver. I'd rather use the space required to store all of this info for something more useful. Boring? Maybe......maybe not. Practical? On a laptop with only 3.8 GB hard drive.......yes. All of this is easily obtainable or created should I decide to change it anyway. :)
