Need Info on XP

I've got a friend who's coming over tonite so that I can troubleshoot his PC - he thinks there's a problem with his modem. He's running XP. Can anyone tell me how to access something similar to Device Manager so that I can at least see if XP sees his modem and thinks that it's working. Any info along these lines would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I know about XP is that Madonna sings the marketing theme song.

 

Right click on My Computer, select Properties and Hardware Tab, then Device Manager.

Also, Control Panel/Phone and Modem Options/Modems Tab/Highlight Modem and select Properties/Diagnostics Tab/Query Modem. HTH
