Games start minimized.

When I start certain games (for instance Mafia or GTA Vice City), they pop up as a black screen, then they shoot down to the taskbar. If I click the button on the taskbar it'll pop back up, then go back down again. The only way I can get into them is by clicking the button, then clicking the mouse button frantically, as if to focus the window. Running Windows 2000 Pro, SP4. If you need more info just ask.

Video drivers?
Version of Active-X?

I'm not a game player and haven't seen the problem. But I'd start by checking the websites for the games and see if somebody else has the problem... ...and/or if either of the above is in conflict with what should be.

 

Well for one, I've ALWAYS had this problem with Windows 2000, even with different drivers. Video drivers are nVidia 4072's (geForce 2 ti)... umm as for Active-X I don't know, but I'll assume you meant direct x, and it's 9.0b. If you DID mean Active-X let me know where to find the version. PIII 700mhz on Tyan S1854 Trinity 400 mobo. 384mb RAM. 10GB & 80GB hard drives.

EDIT: About checking games websites, I've tried a couple and found nothing. But I highly doubt it to be a problem with the games. As almost all my games do it. Vice City, Mafia, Stronghold, Aquanox 2, Rebels. Only games I have that don't do it are Nascar 2003 Season by Papyrus and Rally Trophy by Bugbear.

 

Lucky me, looks like I'm the only one who's ever had this problem.
