Window "START" dont start

Hi, in my computer a virus ( w32.Opaserv) give me some problem.
After I have cleaned my HD with Symantec tool I've reinstalled the SO but when desktop appear and I click on START button, nothing came. Then if I right-clic on resource explore in the right windows I see "%DIRPATHNAME%" and "%....% ".
What can I do ? If it is possible I dont want formatting my HD.

Welcome to the boards. Before you ran the fixtool. , did you disable system restore?

Thanks, I have resolved the problem.
1) run teh fixtool
2) start whith a floppy
3) reinstall the s.o.
4) disable system restore
The s.o. after half-day work very slowly, do you know why?
I must turn off thr machine adn then restart.

 

Hi Gio, if you still have a slow OS, it may be remnants of other junk that got into your system. If you haven't already tried these, download and run the free cleaners
AdAware and SpyBot.
