Strange problem with Windows Media Player 9: Music can be heard only on the left channel (one speaker.) Music works fine with other players such as RealPlayer, SonicStage.

Any clues? Should I emove and reinstall Media Player? Thanks!

    First!

Open media player, now click on "View | Enhancements | Graphic Equalizer" and look at the setting for "Balance" - it should be centered, yours may be all the way to one side...

    RASelkirk,

Thanks for the response. The balance is perfectly centered, I should have mentioned this in my post.

:p I reinstalled MediaPlayer 9 and now both channels are working fine.

Please don't ask, I have no clue what went wrong with this!

I ran into this problem after updating Directx one time.

Like yourself I had to reinstall Media Player.
