When I try to shut down XPpro there's no standby option. The ms web site suggests turning off APM, which I have done but it makes no difference. Anyone know what's wrong? Lefty

still can't get standby in XP

I still can't find a way of getting the standby icon in the shutdown window. I've been all over the microsoft website but to no avail.

    Hi leftfield

Here's something to check if you havn't already.

In the Control Panel click Performance and Maintenance
    then Power Options.
If you have an APM tab put a check in the box next to
    Enable Advanced Power Managment support
