I've discovered Netscape 7.02 doesn't offer a variet of fonts for either mail or composer and tells you they are bad for you anyway since some browers can't read them.

I can still copy over a couple fonts I used to use from old web pages, but that's a pain!

It hints that there is a workaround but I don't know what it is. If it's very easy I might do it.

I have Mozilla 1.0.1 which is similar to Netscape 7.0.1 so I can't tell you whether or not Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 1.4 give you a greater font selection although it seems from reading the last few comments at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26288 that the developers have been woking on adding font selections..

I looked for workarounds and found a number of newsgroup posts telling you that you can go to Edit/Preferences/Appearance/Fonts.and use the drop-down list under Serif or San Serif (depending on which you have for Proportional fonts) but this only works to change the default font that APPEARS in your e-mail in your particular profile. It doesn't effect at all the font that actually gets sent to the recipient.

Another workaround I've seen....that actually works:

    Start composing your e-mail,
Highlight the text you wish to have in a different font.
Go to insert/HTML and in the HTML box that pops up, type, for example,
<font face= "Nimrod "> or <font face= "Comic Sans MS ">at the beginning of the text.
At the end of the text, type </font>.
You can insert the name of any font you have on your computer.
