When I send a picture from my hard drive in Outlook Express it is way too big for the screen. Is there a way to resize so it all fits in the message screen? I am using Outlook Express 6 and Windows Me. Thanks for any help

You can use a program like IrfanView to resize the picture. In IrfanView click on the image menu and choose resize\resample. The other option is to scan them at a lower resolution. Same goes for a digital camera. The lower the resolution the smaller the picture. The size of the the picture is also determined by the resoultion setting of the monitor it's being viewed on. In this case it is just the oposite. The higher the resolution setting of the monitor the smaller the picture will be. Confusing, huh? :) If your monitor is set at 800 x 600 and your picture just fills the screen the same picture on your monitor set a 1024 x 768 will be smaller than the screen area (won't fill it). If you set your resoultion to 640 x 480 the same picture will be to big and won't fit the screen without having to scroll.

Thanks Zander, but I thought there should be a way to resize that didn't involve another program and there is. You just insert the picture in your message, click on it and the little resize buttons come up. You have to watch the proportionality as the diagonal ones don't seem to keep the proportion.
    Thanks again
