I just got a new Dell laptop yesterday. Before I got it, I had ordered a MS wireless keyboard/mouse. On the wireless unit that plugs into the pc, the mouse end is a usb connector, and the keyboard is ps/2. The bad thing is my laptop doesn't have a ps/2 port (i thought it would have had one).

I have a converter from ps/2 to serial...would that work? I know you can connect a mouse through the serial port, but haven't tried a keyboard. Anyways, the software may not even recognize it when it is in the serial port.

Do they make a converter from ps/2 to usb? I have the usb to ps/2 converter, which was for the mouse.

    Thanks.

    Nick

Well, I am about to try it, so I will be answering my own question :)

I did find a convert that will allow a ps/2 keyboard be connected via usb, so I most likely will be getting that, even if the serial connection will work...convienence.

    Thanks.

I have seen a adapter that had USB on one end and 2 PS/2 on the other. So you can run a keyboard and a mouse from a USB port.
