and also what these files are and does to my pc. these are some file names i gotten from the taskmanger before clearing the registries yesterday.

    - net.exe
    - ccevtmgr.exe
    - hidserv.exe
    - winmgmt.exe
    - ccapp.exe
    - lsass.exe
    - stisvc.exe
    - spoolsv.exe

and an error regarding the following file popups when i attempt to reboot my pc sometimes.

    Hi

    Is that possibly a typo-Hope so-- sysctl.exe or systole.exe

SysCtl= sysctl.exe =Added as a result of the AOK VIRUS!
I see other references to it as a Trojan.
Task manager doesn't show everything, would you post the startups from msconfig?
and tell the forum what kind of registry cleaning tool you used.
this is a great resource :
    http://www.spywareinfo.org/startup_pages/startup_full.htm
and also found there : AnswersThatWork for process info.

Irregardless of the av and firewall you have I would recommend and av online scan and a Trojan scan .

PS wait for the others here to reply also(after providing this info)

    Lonny

i'm using quite a couple of softwares through the recommendations of this forum. they are..
    - Anti Trojan (glocksoft)
    - HiJackThis
    - NAV2003
    - TheCleaner (moosoft)
    - RegSeeker
    - RegScrubXP
    - SpyBot S&D

i'm pretty sure that it's SYSTL.exe cause this dumb thing has been popping up every now and then previously.

    please advice.

First thing I'd do is run an online scan from Housecall or any similar online AV site.

    Ah - got it.

Try a google search for each of the files you are wondering about. Most show up as one of the first few hits and you should be able to get all the info you want.
