Home page was hijacked....need it back

I need help on getting my ability to change HOME page back..
I tried many different things but to no avail.

I'd suggest downloading and running Ad-aware to see if that does the trick. If no go, then perhaps this.

thanks alot .........the startpage guard worked well, but i still am unable to change it in ie options

 

Did you run adaware as well, and allow it to clean up any spyware it found?

What is the start page defaulting to?

I would suggest going back to Daizy's link, the "this" one. Go down the page and read 1. and 2. below worst case scenario
Run the HijackThis, click on Scan.
Look real carefully for an entry with this.
06-HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present.
It may have HKLM instead of HKCU instead, if so check it, and go click on Fix Checked. This is the same as doing the 1., from above, where it says in green to to remove 05's 06's 07's.
This if there will prevent changing the Home Page.

 

thanks people .... I ran the hijackthis found the entry and nuked it. boy what a hassle to combat these morons
