Turn off accessibility features

A friend of mine is near blind and he has been using the Accessibility features on the Windows XP program.

He now wants to restore the settings to the normal Windows because he is going to load Zoom Text to help him with his disability.

How does he restore the desktop back to normal.

It's the top option in control panel for the XP part.

IE has it's own in tools~internet options.

There should be an icon for it in your control panel like Newt said. Perhaps it's a bit different for you because of the way you have things set. I changed my control panel view a long time ago and don't really remember what the default view was so perhaps it would be easier to try another way. Click start>run and in the run box type access.cpl and then click ok. That should open the accessibility options for you.

Try using this key combination .... windows key + U. This will bring up 2x small screens. The screen in the background is your "Utility manger" screen which displays three options referring to auto-startup of this function. Uncheck all three of the auto startup questions. This would allow "types of features to remain the same" but controls when and if the user wants this "Accessibility feature" to be active at startup..... basically a on / off switch. Reverse the process to put it back to active.

 

If you go to Start>Control Panel, regardless of which view Control Panel opens in there should be an entry for "Accessibility Options." Just open it and make whatever changes necessary. Click OK to close the window and save the changes.
