    Hi There!!
    getting very frustrated here..
    I am using win98se OS..
about 6 weeks ago my email stopped sending
at first I thought it was my netscape email program, so I tried to use OE and still, the mail will not send.. I have searched over and over in the Registry, to try and find something that will tell me why.. it sends a copy to my sent folder in both programs, but it is not being received by addressee.. I am not getting any error messages
saying the mail couldn't be sent..
    I have reinstalled Netscape4.75(3 times),win98se,
finally did a clean install after downloading a newer version of Netscape4.79.. I am convinced it is not a email client problem, since it is happening in both clients (netscape messenger and OE).. I have searched the internet til I am blue in the face for someone with the same problem, no help..
I have deleted a dead network config, then get message of new hardware with each boot.. so reinstalled all the network adapters, protocols, clients (etc)
I have no problem receiving mail, or browsing the internet, so dialup is ok..
I am not sure if I am in the correct forum, but I am hoping someone can help me..
I am using an winbond ethernet card (if that helps) I am no longer connected to the network,
meaning the network is basically dead.. as I moved from the household where we had the network..so it is no longer needed, I have in the past few days disabled the network card in my device manager. but still I can't send mail
I hope someone can help and also hope that I have
    given you enuff info..
    Thanx so much!

My isp is interlinc I have talked with them
they say it is a computer problem, they set
my account up on their system and was able to send mail thru my account..
I can ping from telnet to the port 25 that
alot of ppl are having problems with so that
    isn't the problem either..
My computer man had said it is my isp, isp said computer.. they both set up my account on their

As Steve R. Jones said, have you tried sending mail to yourself? If the messages you're trying to send are leaving the Outbox and going into Sent Item, then as far as Outlook's concerned, they're sending just fine.

If you send a message to yourself and you get it when you check your mail a minute or two later, then mail is sending. The next thing to look at is the address you're sending it to. One letter wrong and it might still be a valid address...just not the one you want to send to and somebody out there is getting the stuff you've been sending. ;)

    Thanx!
Yes I have tried numerious times to send mail
to myself, it just will not come thru to me..
I also sent mail to myself from telnet, I did get
that one, but can not get the ones I send from
    either of the mail programs..
I have checked and double checked my outgoing mail settings, even went as far as callin my isp and have them go thru setting it back up to make sure
I was not missing something, though I have had this same isp for 4 years..

    thank you so much

Do you have a firewall? If so, which one?

    Strange problem !
If the SMPT settings are correct and the Dialup settings are
correct, that only leaves the modem itself.
Can you try out another modem ?
    regards

    no other modem..
the modem dials into my isp ok..
could it have anything to do with the network
    that is installed?
that would be for another forum, but I know I can't post the same question..

I think I would try to delete your mail account in OE, tools, accounts, mail, remove. Since you have all your account settings, I would establish a new account. Then if you get OE working, I would do the same for Net.
