Windows XP Activation questions

    hi,

    can anyone tell me if the Activation code is stored in the BIOS or not? how does WPA know that a hardware is changed?

    The activation code is stored in a file called "wpa.dbl ".
    It's a fingerprint of the hardware installed on the machine. You can copy this file to a floppy and if need be use it to reactivate your new system. Of course all hardware must be the same.
