    Hey,

    Does anyone remember when you could customize the Win 98(SE)
    System Properties box by adding your own unique BMP image file
    to it and you could also customize the text information about your
    system?

    I'm looking for anyone who has a way of doing it in XP. I sure be
    grateful if some had a way of doing this, would let me know...

    Hello Xyladaun,

    Ok I have tried to get the OEM logo to work on my XP box and I can't get it. However I did make my own OEM support header.

    Here is what you do.

    Fire off note pad and add the following lines:

    [General]
    Manufacturer= (Your text here)
    Model= (Your text here)

    [Support Information]
    Line1= (Your text here)
    Line2= (Your text here)
    Line3= (Your text here)
    Line4= (Your text here)

    Then save the file as oemlogo.ini in the windows system folder. You will then be able to right click my computer and see your little message about your machine. Now you are also supposed to be able to create your own bitmap image and save it to the C:\Windows\System folder and have your own image there as well. However its not working for me. I'm going to play with it some to try and figure out why.

    Have fun!:D

    Thanks, I suspected that the oeminfo.ini text would work, but I
    really was intrested in the logo bmp.

    If you find a solution, I'd be greatful.

    Thanks,

    Xyladaun
