Why would names in my OE6 Address Book disappear? I never had that happen before. Norton did not find a virus.
     J

Don't know why it is empty but search for *.wab to find it and therefore its location. May be named something like Crystal.wab.

If it is empty, then delete it, then copy the ~ file (from your other message) to that location and then rename it to the same name as your original addressbook.

Just now in Find Files i put *.wab and the original Address Book called USERMPS shows up, but it is empty and another one is listed there too.

One is in: C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\AddressBook showing 270KB and other is in C:\Profiles\Crystalwoman etc......and is only 97KB.

I had deleted that strange file '~' that would show up on my desktop not knowing what it was. Are you saying it was the contents of my Address Book??
Did that happen from an update or what?

Anyway, last night i started to fill the Address Book in OE again. Luckily i have Incredimail and the names were still in that email program Address Book.

I noted in my OE Address Book it shows shared contacts or crystalwoman contacts on left side column. I dont remember that.

I am not dumb and pretty computer smart really, but feel something screwy happened yesterday to me, like i have a double with this and the password logon problem. Hope this helps.
