Running Windows 10 on this laptop, fully updated.

I noticed in my start menu, something called the Windows 10 Update Assistant. Is this safe to uninstall? Or will it just get reinstalled at some point in the future? I looked at the MS Answers site, but one MS employee said it could be uninstalled safely, while another recommended keeping it.

Any thoughts? I don't ever manually check for updates anyways--I let Windows keep this laptop updated automatically.

Since you don't manually download updates - you must have the update assistant.

To help keep all Windows 10 systems secure and to provide the latest features and improvements, the Windows 10 Update Assistant downloads and starts the installation of the latest version of Windows 10. The Windows 10 Update Assistant will be deployed to Windows 10 PCs that have not yet had the latest update installed.

EDIT: Pete types faster than I do.

Fair enough. But since I don't actually use it (as in, start the program by clicking on it), I'll move the icon in the Programs menu to some place that won't grab my attention.
