Now that you can't restart in Dos mode and some program dll files are being used by windows, how do you delete them? You used to be able to restart in Dos where the files were not being used and delete them.

You can still boot from a DOS system disk. If you are running FAT32, you can then do what you want with the files.

If NTFS, you can get an app from Sysinternals that will allow you to NTFS from DOS. However, the free version is read-only so you will have to pay a bit if you want to work with the files.

Better question - why in the world do you want to delete dlls that the system loads and uses? With app dlls, you can usually stop all activity by the app and get rid of them. If you want to.
