I was having shutting down problem before. When I shut down
I got "It's safe to shut down windown ". Then I got to hold the power switch for 10 sec to shut the computer down.

But then I followed the instruction posted by someone for xp at bbs about shutting down window. According to instruction, control panel>Performance and Maintenance>power options>APM and check the enable advanced power management option. My computer did shut down
when I do start>turn off. But my concern is when it is being shut down i got the vertical color stripes just before the computer went off.

    Can anyone help me?

    Charlie,

    I doubt that's a problem - more likely a characteristic of your video card/monitor.
