XP Pro System Restore

    I went to create a restore point and was greeted with the message that it could not create a restore point. I then rebooted and still get the same message. I did a defrag and still the same results.

    Any ideas?

    Have you tried disabling system restore (this will wipe out any existing restore points), rebooting, and turning it back on?

    If Newt's suggestion doesn't do it--->

    Restart in Safe Mode. Find sr.inf in your Windows\Inf folder.

    Right-click it and choose "Install ".

    When done, restart.

    (You will lose all prior restore points. I am not sure if it will ask for your CD.)
