XP Pro Admin. Account

Why do i not see administrator on the initial bootup screen to log in asd administrator? XP Professional. Thank you.

 

Admin is not on the screen by default. You can add it in Group Policy or TweakUI ( http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe ) . You can access the account at logon with Ctrl-Alt-Del.

It is not enabled by default. To add the built-in admin account to the welcome screen in XP Pro only:

• 'Start' > 'Run...' > enter regedit > 'OK'
• In Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \Winlogon \ SpecialAccounts \ UserList

• Right-click on the right-hand pane > 'DWORD' value
• Enter Administrator
• Right-click 'Administrator' > 'Modify'
• Enter 1 under 'Value data:' > 'OK'
• Close Registry Editor
• Reboot
