Moved a Dell Dimension from one user to a different user, created the account for the new user but now when the new user tries to shut the machine down it never goes fully off. When log back into old user system will shut down properly. Machine is current with all XP updates, have checked everything I can think of and still at a loose as to why the machine wont shut down when the new user instructs it to.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated....Greg

Looked at all the microsoft stuff but does not really apply. The kicker with this problem is that one profile works just fine and shuts down like it always did. The newly created profile is the one I cant figure out. Its just a new user on the same machine. The system things should all automatically transfer.

The Norton 2003 and the CD burning software is one that is on my list to try but strange is happening only on this one machine. I setup and moved 3 with the same new user setup and only this machine has the shut down problem. All machines are xp pro with 512mb memory, 80g h.d. and high end processors.
