I'm probably doing this all wrong, but I'm jumping in to this with a similar problem after receiving no help from Microsoft.

I wiped my hard disk, used windows xp professional setup floppies I got via Microsoft, formattdd the hard disk with the setup program as instructed, started setup of XP with a llicensed CD, got the following message:

"Th following value in the .SIF file used by Sewtup is corrupted or missing:

Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles] with key 'SP1.cab'

Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3. "

    Help!!

Bob - first off, welcome to you.

Nothing wrong with your adding a post to an existing one but it does you a dis-service since it maybe won't receive proper attention. So I split yours off into a thread of it's own.

Question for you - will your PCs BIOS allow booting from CD? If so, set it like that and try the XP install again. Post back with your results.
